Sevierville: Birthplace of Dolly Parton
Sevierville is famous for being the birthplace of Dolly Parton. Dolly is proud of her Tennessee roots, and Sevierville is definitely proud of her.
The community installed a statue of a young Dolly Parton outside the courthouse to commemorate the relationship. Visitors by the thousands stop by to see the iconic artwork each year.
Like Dolly said, “there is so much to do here between shopping, attractions, and delicious restaurants” you will want to come back again and again.
Visitors to Great Smoky Mountains National Park often underestimate Sevierville. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are just down the street and they are popular places to visit. However, you will miss out on some of the best outdoor adventure East Tennessee has to offer if you bypass Sevierville.
Helicopter rides, zip lines, golf, and a multitude of other activities are all based here.
The Tennessee Smokies, Chicago Cubs’ AA minor league team, have a fantastic ballpark here. Kris Bryant, Kyle Schwarber, Javier Baez, Wilson Contreras, and many other Cubbies played for the Tennessee Smokies before being called up to the big show.
Smokies Stadium is an exciting and fun place to see future stars of Major League Baseball.
Last but not least, Sevierville is known for its “Shopportunities”. Baseball and shopping are the favorite pastimes of America, and we have both!
