Mexican Restaurants

Mexican food in a tourist town usually means a laminated menu and a combo plate numbered one through fifteen. Pigeon Forge does something else with it. The kitchens on this page cook from scratch, and that shows up where you would expect it to: in the salsas, in birria given the hours it needs, in moles and marinades that no lunch rush would tolerate.

The bar counts as much as the kitchen here. Tequila and mezcal get flight treatment, poured from blanco through the long aged bottles, and at least one well pour is distilled a few doors up the road rather than trucked in. The rooms are part of the appeal too, running to rooftops and open air and poolside rather than a vinyl booth against a wall.

None of this is the kind of meal you grab. Plan on sitting down for a while. Vegetarian and gluten free plates are marked on the menus rather than negotiated with a server, which makes ordering for a table that does not eat the same way easier here than it usually is.

Why go: Scratch salsas, slow cooked birria, and tequila flights in rooftop and open air rooms.
