Homestyle Cooking Restaurants
Homestyle cooking in Pigeon Forge means the food this part of Tennessee grew up on: fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, biscuits, and pie, cooked in quantity and served without ceremony. It is the category to look at when you want a real sit-down meal after a day on the Parkway and you would rather not think hard about what to order.
Three restaurants anchor the section. Mama’s Farmhouse serves family style, with servers refilling the platters at your table instead of sending you to a buffet line. The Old Mill Restaurant cooks beside a working 200-year-old mill and puts grain ground on site into its breads and sides. The Old Mill Pottery House Cafe & Grill is the plated, quieter half of the Old Mill pair, with breads baked in house and a weekend brunch. Seating is first come, first served at all three, and all three will feed a family without hurrying you out.
Grain milled on site goes into the breads and sides, and family meals for four to six travel home. Walk-in seating only, from eight in the morning onward.
Servers keep refilling the platters instead of a buffet line. A seasonal country menu, an online waitlist, and its own lot one turn off the Parkway strip.
The modern half of The Old Mill pair: individually plated steaks, quiches and salads, a soup served in a house bread bowl, and loaves sold to carry home.
