About Puckett’s Restaurant

Puckett’s started as a community grocery store in the village of Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee, and grew from there into a family owned and operated restaurant group with locations across Tennessee and into Alabama. The Pigeon Forge dining room arrived in 2019, five years after the brand reached Chattanooga, making it the second East Tennessee restaurant and the sixth overall.

What ties the locations together is the cooking. Meats go into a cherry wood smoker and come out as pulled pork, beef brisket, smoked turkey breast, smoked chicken, sausage, and dry rubbed baby back ribs. That work earned the restaurant a place on a national list of the ten best barbecue restaurants in the United States. Around the smoker sits a Southern menu that runs to shrimp and grits, chicken fried chicken, smoked meatloaf, fried catfish, and a rotating cobbler of the day made fresh and served warm with ice cream.

The other half of the identity is the music. Live performances happen right in the dining room, close enough that the show is part of dinner rather than background noise, and the restaurant keeps a published calendar of who is playing. A daily meat and three runs through the early afternoon, the bar pours regional Tennessee beer alongside the usual names, and if you want the food after you go home, the kitchen ships nationwide through Goldbelly.

Getting to Puckett’s Restaurant

Puckett’s Restaurant is at 2480 Parkway, at traffic light number 2A near the northern end of the Pigeon Forge strip, which puts it among the first restaurants you reach coming in from Sevierville. That position makes it an easy first or last stop on a trip rather than a detour into the busiest part of the Parkway. The restaurant also keeps private dining space for groups of up to sixty, so it works for a family gathering as well as a table for two.

Why Choose Puckett’s Restaurant

Plenty of places in the Smokies smoke meat and plenty put a band in the corner. This one is built around doing both at once.

  • Cherry wood, not just any smoke. The pork, brisket, turkey, chicken, and ribs all come off a cherry wood smoker, which gives them a milder and sweeter finish than hickory.
  • Music at the table, not on a stage across the room. Performances happen a few feet from the diners, and the calendar of who is playing is published ahead of time.
  • A daily meat and three. Served through the early afternoon with the meats posted on a chalkboard and the sides listed on the menu.
  • Happy hour on weekdays. Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM the bar runs drink specials alongside a short list of bar bites.
  • Regional beer on draft. The taps carry pours from Nashville, Johnson City, Gatlinburg, and Sevierville brewers rather than only national labels.
  • Room for a group. Private dining seats up to sixty, and reservations can be made ahead through the restaurant website.

Menu Favorites

The smoker output is the headline, but the Southern plates and the desserts have their own following.

  • Puckett’s BBQ Platter. Your pick of cherry wood smoked pulled pork, beef brisket, smoked turkey breast, or smoked chicken, with sweet potato fries, smoked baked beans, and homemade slaw.
  • Baby Back Ribs. Cherry wood smoked and Memphis style dry rubbed, served with potato salad and baked beans in a half or full rack.
  • Shrimp & Grits. Blackened jumbo shrimp over Cajun seasoned white cheddar grits, drizzled with house BBQ sauce and topped with collard greens.
  • Piggy Mac. Cherry wood smoked pulled pork in an iron skillet under white cheddar mac and cheese with biscuit crumbs.
  • Chicken Fried Chicken. Tenderized breast battered and fried, topped with white pepper gravy, with mashed potatoes and Southern green beans.
  • Puckett’s Mojo Burger. The hand formed patty stacked with coleslaw, pulled pork, baked beans, cheddar, and a BBQ chipotle ranch drizzle.
  • Pimento Cheese Bites. The house pimento blend breaded, flash fried, and served with pepper jelly.
  • Cobbler of the Day. Made fresh daily and served warm with vanilla ice cream. Ask what the flavor is that day.

What to Expect

A relaxed room that works for a quick lunch or a long evening, with a handful of details worth knowing in advance.

  • Reservations are available. Unlike most of the Parkway, this restaurant takes bookings, and the link sits on its Pigeon Forge page.
  • Cash totals get rounded. The restaurant rounds cash payments to the nearest five cents because of the coin shortage. Card payments are unaffected.
  • Everything low and slow arrives with a corn cake. The signature Cajun corn cake comes with the barbecue plates and the Tennessee favorites.
  • Online ordering is set up for pickup. The restaurant runs its own ordering platform, including to go packs sized to feed four to six people.
  • Check the music calendar first. Show nights change, and the calendar on the website tells you whether there is a performer booked.
  • Delivery is not published. The site advertises pickup and nationwide shipping but says nothing about local delivery, so call to ask.
