Beer, Wine, & Spirits

For a town this size, Maggie Valley drinks well. There’s a creekside brewery taproom, a local winery, a couple of taverns that have been pouring for decades, and a sports bar for when there’s a game on. Between them you can spend an evening without repeating yourself.

The creek-facing patios are the draw in warm weather and worth planning around, get there before sunset in summer and you’ll want the outside table. In winter the ski crowd fills these rooms after last chair, which is its own kind of good. Several have full kitchens, so this doubles as a dinner category.
