Meet Marc & Ann Bowman

We are glad you landed on this page. We are Marc and Ann Bowman, residents of East Tennessee and longtime lovers of the Great Smoky Mountains.

The Smoky Mountains create memories that last a lifetime. Whether this is your first visit or you have returned many times, the mountains offer experiences that stay with you long after you leave.

Our Story

Neither of us was born here, but East Tennessee has been home for many years. Ann moved to the area for college and attended Carson Newman right up the road. We met at seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina, and soon married. Our honeymoon was spent right here in Townsend, Cades Cove, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg. After living overseas a few times, we made East Tennessee our permanent home.

What We Hope to Share

We love these mountains and want you to love them too. Our goal with My Smoky Mountain Guide is to give you everything you need to plan a trip that matches what you are looking for. The perfect vacation looks different for every person and every family. Here, there is something for all of it.

You can unwind by a winter fire, hike to waterfalls or scenic overlooks, enjoy dinner shows and live music, watch artisans at work, ride a scenic train through the mountains, visit museums and cultural sites, or head out for adventure on the trails and rivers. Great Smoky Mountains National Park welcomed 11,527,939 visitors in 2025 and remains the most visited national park in the country. People keep coming back for good reason.
